My tango is rooted in experience,
but lives in the present.

Oscar & Georgina · a shared story

“Tango is not simply what I do. It is who I am.”

For more than thirty years, Georgina’s artistic life has revolved around tango, music and teaching. Her work is grounded in connection, musicality, emotion, elegance and what happens when two people truly meet on the dance floor.

For twenty years she shared that journey with Oscar, her partner in life and dance. Together they travelled, taught, created projects and developed a way of understanding and passing on tango that remains present in her work.

Today Georgina continues to dance, teach and sing. She explores new forms, works with both roles and keeps alive a tango that evolves without losing its roots.

“Because changing does not mean losing yourself.”

Our teaching approach

Technique in the service
of feeling.

01

Technique that frees you

Axis, posture, walking, dissociation, coordination and movement quality. Technique supports freedom.

02

Embrace and connection

Listening to your partner’s weight, intention and timing; proposing without pushing and responding without anticipating.

03

Music and presence

Pulse, phrasing, silences and character, allowing music to transform movement.

A legacy that lives on
through teaching.

Óscar Mandagaran was my partner in life and dance for 20 years. He was a great dancer, teacher and creator and, above all, a man deeply committed to tango and to passing on its essence.

He had a very particular way of understanding dance: through connection, musicality, sensitivity and respect for his partner. For him, tango was not merely a sequence of movements, but a way of communicating, of listening to another person and expressing what words so often cannot say.

Together we shared stages, journeys, classes, projects and an enormous part of our lives. We created a way of teaching and living tango that took shape in our work, our recordings, our classes and in the many people who had the opportunity to learn with us.

Óscar was also a fundamental part of my own artistic identity. Much of who I am today as a dancer and teacher was born, grew and evolved by his side.

His passing left a void that cannot be filled, but he also left a body of work, a teaching legacy and an imprint that live on.

Today I continue to dance, teach and create, carrying with me what we built together. His legacy is part of my present and will remain part of everything I do in tango.

Because some stories end, but what was created with love, dedication and authenticity remains.

Both roles

Understanding the whole partnership.

Georgina teaches both tango roles: the person who leads and the person who follows. Understanding the physical, musical and sensitive logic of each role helps you listen better, communicate clearly and build a truly present partnership within the embrace.
